Tokyo: Day 1 & 2 Recap

We have spent two full days in Tokyo so far and I absolutely love it. There are so many sights to see there is absolutely no way we will be able to see it all during our five day trip. So far we been to Harajuku, Shibuya, Roppongi, and Ebisu. All these different areas really show case how diverse this city is. The people have been super friendly and helpful. If they see us looking at our maps they will come up to us and ask if they can help us. I'm proud of my husband and I in just two days I feel like we've really gotten the subway and train routes down which is great since we need them to go basically every where. Most of our rides are about 280 yen to 400 yen for the both of us to get where we are trying to go which is super inexpensive. With the current yen rate we are only paying $2 to $3.50 per ride.

We've been eating lunch out and town and usually are back around the hotel by dinner. We have eaten at a popular burrito place called Frijoles in Ebisu, and we've also ate at Wolfgang Puck in Harajuku. Wolfgang Puck sells burgers, steaks, and pastas.

My favorite experience so far was at the Tokyo City View in Ebisu. Standing 885 feet above the city was a wild experience. I'm so thankful that we've been able to do some traveling and see what Tokyo has to offer before we have our son. It's so amazing to me that there are just so many parts of the world we haven't seen that are just waiting to be explored. This trip so far has been such an eye opener and I cant  wait to see what the remainder of it holds. Check out our pictures below at some of the spots mentioned above.

Greater is HE

I started this blog three years ago with the intentions of sharing with my readers the things God shares with me. I have been a bit of a sporadic writer these past three years and for that I apologize. This year I will do better at updating and adding new content more frequently. I can’t believe how fast time has flown by I was 20, in college, and completely unaware of the plans God had for me in the upcoming years when I started this. Now here I am at 23 living in japan, married to an amazing man, and being reminded each day of how amazing God truly is.

I don’t think the words I write can truly express his greatness, but I am willing to try. There is a verse that’s been on my heart and it’s the very verse that started this blog 1 John 4:4, “You are of God, little children, and have over come them, because greater is he that’s is in you, than he that’s is in the world. The apostle John is writing to believers everywhere to instruct, inform, and encourage them. In this particular passage he is telling believers how to discern the difference between those who are truly for God and those who are not. John is reaffirming to believers that they come from God and because God lives within them they have what it takes to overcome the things of this world.

The fact that God dwells within us is encouragement. It means even on our worst days God is with us. He never leaves us nor does he forsake us (Duet. 31:6). His word never comes back void (Isa 55:11), and his love and mercy endure forever (PS.100:5). My heart yearns for something this year and that is to serve him in spirit and in truth. I want what John the Baptist said in John3:30, I want the Lord to increase and for me to decrease. John in this critical moment recognized the greatness of God through Jesus Christ and said I must decrease so He can increase. This was so critical because people were asking John a lot of tough questions and it seemed as though they were trying to stir up confusion. But John knew his role. He was there to set the path for the Messiah not the be the Messiah. When you know and are confident in your position the confusion of others won’t become your own.

I just want to encourage you all to stay focused and to stay faithful.  We serve an awesome God and each day we take for granted or neglect to spend time with him is a day we can’t get back.

Peace & Blessings
