21 Things I've Learned

In honor of my 21st birthday (which is tomorrow yay)! I decided to write a blog about 21 things I learned in the last 21 years!

1.     Who you say you are needs to be in direct correlation with what you do.
2.     Love is not an emotion or a feeling.  When you love someone you have to continue to make the decision to love them over and over again despite of their flaws.
3.     Life isn’t about what other people think of you. If you give people the power to rule over you with their opinions and comments it will take forever for you to get that power back.
4.     To love is to sacrifice. Jesus loves us so much that he sacrificed himself for our sins, so we could be freely forgiven. I will not belittle His gift to me.
5.     Being in a relationship is hard work. You and your partner must be willing to give 100% effort.
6.     Praying for and with your significant other reduces the amount of silly arguments.
7.     This walk with Christ is a daily walk. The path isn’t always straight and there will be difficult times, but trust in God. He will never lead you astray.
8.     Just because you can’t hear God doesn’t mean He is not there.
9.     Starting your day with God and ending your day with God either through praying or worshiping helps you get through the little hiccups in the day.
10.  If you want to be healed you can’t keep your sin concealed.
11. God has a plan for you. You might not be able to see all the details of His plan. But isn’t that why God calls us to walk by faith and not by sight? Yes
12.  Your not always going to fit in and that is ok.
13. Don’t force yourself to be someone your not to gain the approval of others
14.  There is opportunity for growth in every trial and test.
15. The bible is a tool that should be used daily to help you grown and to fight off trials when they come.
16. Go to God first when your going through something there is a 100% chance He will give you better advice then your friends or family.
17. Pray without ceasing! (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
18. Everybody and I mean everybody is going through something. So let us just be kind even to those who are unkind.
19. God wants all of you not just visitation rights on Sunday.
20.  You can’t move forward if you keep looking back.
21. I love Kyle and I can’t wait to marry him in July!

Many of the things above I am still learning and do not claim to be an expert at any of them. I hope you gain something from my almost 21 year journey.
